PT BANK KB BUKOPIN SYARIAH (hereinafter referred to as the Company) as a bank operating on sharia principles which began with the entry of the PT Bank Bukopin, Tbk consortium into the acquisition of PT Bank Persyarikatan Indonesia (a conventional bank) by PT Bank Bukopin, Tbk., the acquisition process took place in stages from 2005 to 2008, where PT Bank Persyarikatan Indonesia which was previously called PT Bank Swansarindo Internasional was established in Samarinda, East Kalimantan based on Deed Number 102 dated July 29, 1990 is a general bank that obtained the Decree of the Minister of Finance number 1.659/KMK.013/1990 dated December 31, 1990 concerning the Granting of a Merger Permit for 2 (two) Market Banks and the Upgrade of Status to a General Bank under the name of PT Bank Swansarindo Internasional which obtained operational activities based on Bank Indonesia (BI) letter number 24/1/UPBD/PBD2/Smr dated May 1, 1991 concerning the Granting of a General Bank Business License and the Relocation of Bank Offices.

In 2001 until the end of 2002, the acquisition process by the Muhammadiyah Organization and at the same time the name change of PT Bank Swansarindo Internasional to PT Bank Persyarikatan Indonesia obtained approval from (BI) number 5/4/KEP. DGS/2003 dated January 24, 2003 which was stated in deed number 109 dated January 31, 2003. In its development, PT Bank Persyarikatan Indonesia through additional capital and assistance by PT Bank Bukopin, Tbk., then in 2008 after obtaining a general bank business activity permit operating based on sharia principles through the Decree of the Governor of Bank Indonesia number 10/69/KEP.GBI/DpG/2008 dated October 27, 2008 concerning the Granting of a Permit to Change the Business Activities of a Conventional Bank to a Sharia Bank, and the Change of Name of PT Bank Persyarikatan Indonesia to PT Bank Syariah Bukopin which officially started operating effectively on December 9, 2008, the Company's operational activities were officially opened by Mr. M. Jusuf Kalla, Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia for the period 2004-2009.

On June 30, 2021, the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (GMS) approved to change the Company's name to PT Bank KB Bukopin Syariah (KBBS) as stated in Deed No. 02 dated July 6, 2021 and has received approval for the Determination of Use of Bank Business License with a New Name from the Financial Services Authority based on letter number SR-27/PB.101/2021 dated August 12, 2021 and KEP-53/PB.1/2021 dated August 10, 2021

As of December 2022, the Company has an office network of 1 (one) Head Office and Operations, 12 (twelve) Branch Offices, 10 (ten) Assistant Branch Offices, and 33 (thirty-three) KBBS ATM machines with the Prima network and KB Bukopin Bank ATMs.
