KB BANK SYARIAH SUCCESSFULLY MAINTAINS AAA RATING WITH STABLE OUTLOOK FROM FITCH RATINGS

25 March 2025

JAKARTA, March 24, 2025 – Fitch Ratings Indonesia has affirmed the Long-Term National Rating of 'AAA(idn)' for PT Bank KB Bukopin Syariah (KB Bank Syariah) and the Short-Term National Rating of 'F1+(idn)'. The Long-Term National Rating Outlook is Stable.

National Rating of 'AAA' represents the highest rating assigned by Fitch within the National Rating scale for the respective country. This rating is given to issuers or bonds with the lowest expectation of default risk compared to all other issuers or bonds in the same country or monetary union.

The Short-Term National Rating of 'F1' indicates the strongest capacity for timely payment of financial commitments relative to other issuers or bonds in the same country. According to Fitch’s National Rating scale, this rating is assigned to the lowest default risk compared to others in the same country or monetary union. A "+" is added to the assigned rating for a particularly strong liquidity profile.

Ji Kyu Jang, Director of KB Bank Syariah, stated that Fitch's 'AAA' rating for KB Bank Syariah is a recognition of the bank’s commitment to continuous improvement efforts in providing the best products and services to its customers.

"With full support from KB Bank Indonesia as the controlling shareholder, we remain committed to making a positive contribution to Indonesia’s economy and providing the best Islamic banking solutions for our customers," he added.

KB Bank Syariah’s National Rating reflects the high likelihood of extraordinary support from its ultimate parent company, Kookmin Bank (A/Stable/a), one of the largest banks in South Korea, through its 95.9% shareholder, PT Bank KB Bukopin, Tbk (KB Bank Indonesia, AAA(idn)/Stable).

KB Bank Syariah is a strategically important subsidiary for KB Bank Indonesia as it strengthens its presence in the Islamic banking sector. This supports Kookmin Bank and KB Financial Group’s (KBFG) broader strategy to expand their foothold in Indonesia.
